After a long struggle to configure the latest version of Mono, I’m back. That is, I got the blog running. To do that, I had to copy System.Web.Mobile.dll from the Windows .NET Framework. Mysterious are thy ways, O great Spaghetti Monster.
I’m still not promising to write anything, though. I’ve almost finished the piece about Turkey, but to hell with it.
Here’s what’s been happening:
We rode our bikes to Krāslava (over 100 km), played the board game Real Life, and repaired/upgraded the front derailleur on my bike to a Shimano Deore LX.
I also watched Hellboy II, Watchmen, and Iron Man.
The first was good and fun, and very beautiful. The second was so-so, although Jon turned out pretty well (I wonder whether Julian May knew about him when she created Jack the Bodiless? I think the comic came out earlier). The third was all right, but altogether too ridiculous and comic-book-like.
Also, my iPhone got caught in the rain, the bathroom faucet started leaking, and the refrigerator burned out because of dripping water. Water wants to kill me.
The iPhone works, but without the backlight; we shut off the faucet; and the refrigerator isn’t mine anyway, and I’m moving out soon, so I’m not going to fix it.
Kisses to everyone in the chat.
